Door-to-door delivery of 5 boilersNewsitem | 11 Jun 2008 EWF bv (East West Forwarding) has successfully concluded one of her biggest jobs so far. The challenge was to arrange door-to-door delivery of 5 boilers, each 11.26 x 4.50 x 5.00 meters and each 100 tons heavy, from the south of Germany to a region just outside Moscow, Russia. The sheer dimensions of the boilers made transport by road impossible, so EWF opted for a multi-modal solution, comprising of road- river- and sea- transportation, via the port of Rotterdam. Project cargoes and oversized deliveries are all in a days’ work for the project-team of EWF, but this project was not an average challenge! Thanks to the network of specialists that EWF has built up during its many years of experience, and the energy of EWFs’ own Project team, this project has run smoothly and came to a successful finish this week. The buyers, one of Russia’s biggest building companies, immediately entered in to negotiations with EWF about more similar deliveries. |
